Dr. Timothy Tong is the Chairman of the board of directors and independent director of AMTD Digital.  Dr. Tong is also the Chief Executive Officer of AMTD Charity Foundation, and Chairman of the Hong Kong Laureate Forum, which is an organization formed by distinguished personalities and academics of Hong Kong, with the full support of the Hong Kong SAR Government. The mission is to connect the current and next generations of leaders in scientific pursuit, and to promote understanding and interests of the young generation in Hong Kong and around the world in various disciplines in science and technology.

Dr. Tong is an internationally renowned educator and expert in heat transfer. He served as the President of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University from January 2009 to December 2018. He is also the former dean of the school of engineering and applied science at The George Washington University, the former chairman of the steering committee of the Pilot Green Transport Fund of the Environmental Protection Department, a fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, and a fellow and former president of the Hong Kong Academy of Engineering Sciences. Dr. Tong currently serves as independent non-executive directors of Airstar Bank; Xiaomi Corporation (SEHK: 1810); Gold Peak Industries (Holdings) Limited (SEHK: 40); Gold Peak Industries Limited (SGX: G20); a non-executive director of Freetech Road Recycling Technology (Holdings) Limited (SEHK: 6888).

Dr. Tong has been a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference since March 2013 and a Justice of the Peace in Hong Kong since July 2010. Dr. Tong received a Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering from the University of California at Berkeley in December 1980. Dr. Tong received a master of science degree in engineering from University of California in June 1978 and a bachelor degree of science in mechanical engineering from Oregon State University in June 1976.

Before joining AMTD Group, Calvin was formerly a Managing Director at the Investment Banking Division and a member of the Global Family Office Committee of UBS Asia. He also served as the China Chief Specialist, Asia Strategic Alliance under the Corporate and Investment Banking Division of Citigroup.

Frederic Lau

Dr. Frederic Lau is a Vice Chairman of AMTD Group, as well as President of AMTD Digital. Dr. Lau has over 30 years’ of experience in regulating and managing financial institutions, especially in areas such as industry development, regulatory framework, risk management, and internal control. Dr. Lau is the director of Airstar Bank since July 2018, and served as the founding chief executive since the banking license was granted in May 2019 to October 2020. Dr. Lau served in Hong Kong and U.S. regulatory agencies for years, including the Hong Kong Monetary Authority and the Office of Thrift Supervision (subsequently merged with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, OCC) of the U.S. Treasury Department.

Dr. Lau was an Executive Director and Group Risk Director at Dah Sing Banking Group, and a member of the Board of Directors of Dah Sing Bank from 2005 to 2011. Dr. Lau was also a member of Board of Directors of Shenzhen Development Bank (subsequently renamed as Ping An Bank) from 2011 to 2014. He was a Managing Director of Promontory Financial Group from 2011 to 2014. Dr. Lau received a Ph.D. degree in business management (economics) from University of South Australia in 2004.

He is the Founder and Non-executive Chairman of Clearbridge Health (SGX ticker: 1H3, Bloomberg ticker: CBH.SP), a pan-Asia precision healthcare company. Johnson is also the Founder and Non-executive Director of Biolidics (SGX) ticker: 88Y, Bloomberg ticker: BLD.SP), a microfluidic based liquid biopsy tumor diagnosis company. Earlier in his career, Johnson co-founded and successfully exited two tech start-ups.

He was one of the pioneering team members of Hong Kong-based information and communications technology service company Pacific Century CyberWorks Limited (PCCW). He was subsequently appointed President of CyberWorks Ventures, PCCW’s direct investment arm where he led a team to build up and oversee a multi-million dollar investment portfolio. The youngest member of PCCW’s M&A/investment executive committee at that time, he was responsible for much of PCCW’s strategic

Prior to R3, Marc led commercial growth expansions in global fintech companies Braintree, PayPal, and Fiserv. Marc holds a BSC of Biotechnology from Monash University and an MBA from The University of Manchester.

Dominic is a member of SC Ventures, innovation arm of Standard Chartered Bank, responsible for promoting innovation, investing in disruptive financial technology, and exploring alternative business models. In his role, Dominic focuses on the team’s HK strategy, client engagement, partnerships and investments. He was a founding UK member of SC Ventures focusing on Financial Markets FinTech and led UK eXellerator before he relocated to HK.

He joined Standard Chartered in September 2009 through the Management Associates program. He has held a number of front office markets roles, as well as treasury and business management roles at Standard Chartered and JPMorgan in New York. Dominic started his career as a lawyer in Silicon Valley working with start-ups and investors, as well as public technology companies. He has also worked with early stage start-ups looking for business model development and funding.

Dominic holds an MBA and a Juris Doctorate and is currently a licensed (inactive) lawyer in California. Dominic has lived and worked in the US, UK, Hong Kong and Singapore.

Prior to founding Token Bay Capital, Lucy was a senior leader of PwC’s Global Crypto team where she advised entrepreneurs, start-ups and financial institutions on their crypto and blockchain projects. She also worked with many central banks and other regulatory bodies around the world to help formulate their crypto asset policies. Lucy was named a Top 10 Rising Women in Crypto in 2020 (FinTech Times and Wirex) and #22 Top 100 Women in FinTech in 2021 (FinTech Magazine).

Prior to working in FinTech, Lucy spent 16 years in banking with Goldman Sachs, Credit Suisse, Schroders and Kleinwort Benson.

She holds a Type 9 (asset management) license with the Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong and became a Chartered Wealth Manager in the UK in 2015. Born and raised in Hong Kong and educated in the UK, she graduated from the University of Oxford with a degree in Modern History.

Mark is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Vectr Fintech Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm based in San Francisco and Hong Kong. He is also a Venture Partner to Vectr Ventures. Vectr has backed more than 100 ground breaking and iconic technology companies since 2014.

Having founded various technology companies for the financial services industry, from online investing to high performance applications, Mark has tremendous experience in Fintech and working with global banks and insurance companies. He has served on multiple boards, overseen numerous mergers and acquisitions and was part of the team that led Penson Worldwide, a securities clearing company, to an IPO in 2005.

Prior to a career in financial technology Mark was a political consultant to several prominent US Congressional and Senate members.
