Payments

Thanks to Fintech, modern customers now have a plethora of payment options to choose from, many that are far more affordable, convenient and secure than ever before. Companies such as Transferwise make international payments up to 8 times cheaper than through banks. Airwallex allows companies to convert currencies from the point of account registration. Cryptocurrencies are becoming more mainstream as companies like Circle build banking rails on stablecoin. The rapid development of technology means that the payments industry is evolving more quickly than some merchants, government and regulators can handle.
How can governments find a balance between innovation and regulation? How can we get APIs and services to work across borders? Will payments be so integrated that the industry will simply cease to exist on its own?
